THE BEAST WITHIN

Ozzy Osbourne has seen the enemy--and the enemy is himself.

In the De Laurentiis Entertainment Group production “Trick or Treat,” filming until June, the controversial heavy-metal rocker is featured as an anti-rock crusader--complete with slicked-back hair and three-piece suit. In a talk show scene, he raves about the “destructive influences” of heavy metal. The inside joke: The album he berates is his latest, “The Ultimate Sin.”

Huffs Osbourne: “Look at how tight the pants are on this young lady.” He points to the album cover, which features a woman clad in skintight black leather, whipping a beast with a human head (Ozzy’s). “It’s obscene!”

During a break in the filming, Osbourne said that “playing an anti-rock crusader just comes natural. These people have been a part of my life for so long. I have all sorts of articles filled with the rubbish they’ve printed about me.”

The pic, with actor Charles Martin Smith making his directing debut, is a horror-comedy about a high school nerd (Marc Price) who takes revenge on Halloween night with the help of a dead rock star (Tony Fields).
