“The Victory Garden.” Crown Video. $24.95. It’s easy to see why the PBS show of the same name was so popular, based on this “vegetable video” with Bob Thomson and Jim Wilson. This 60-minute effort is divided into 31 accessible chapters offering tips on starting and continuing the vegetable garden. While you may not have this much land to furrow, the advice is adaptable to smaller plots. Watching an experienced gardener show you how-to can be quite helpful, although a companion paperback complementing the video chapter by chapter would have made this fine effort even better. 1/2
