Share

Barney Davis, administrator of business services in the city’s school district, will become the district superintendent in September.

The school board earlier this month chose Davis to succeed Don Stuckey, who will retire in the fall after a 33-year career with the district.

Davis received his bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University and his master’s degree from USC. He began his career in education in the Garvey School District in Los Angeles County, where he taught sixth- through eighth-grade classes and later became an administrator. He has also worked in the Walnut Valley Unified, Caruthers and Warner Springs school districts.
