Nicaraguan rebel leader Eden Pastora will seek asylum in Costa Rica for himself and 400 men, spokesmen reported. They said that Pastora, whose fight from bases in Costa Rica against the Sandinista government has sputtered for three years, will make the request Friday. There was no immediate comment from the Costa Rican government. Six field commanders of Pastora’s group have broken away and joined a broad-based contra coalition, the United Nicaraguan Opposition.
