100 Criminal Suspects Under Arrest in Italy

COSENZA, Italy — Police said Wednesday that they served more than 100 arrest warrants to people suspected of belonging to organized crime groups based in southern Italy.
Magistrates here issued 180 warrants on suspicion of membership in various clans of the the Calabrian version of the Sicilian Mafia. About 50 people were arrested overnight in various cities and more than 50 other arrest warrants were served to suspects already in custody. The remainder are still being sought, police said.
