Three students died and 18 policemen were injured today in rioting at one of Jordan’s three universities. Government officials said it began over fees charged for engineering tuition.

They said the casualties occurred after police and security forces, who entered the campus at Yarmouk University in the northern city of Irbid to restore calm, were met by students hurling stones and empty bottles.
