Warm, Sunny Weather Due in Southland This Weekend

The weekend is shaping up as a fine time to spend out-of-doors, whether at a park, the beach or just in the backyard.

That is, of course, once the morning low clouds--so common this time of year in the county--have finally dissipated.

According to forecasters at the National Weather Service, things will improve with each passing day.

Although today will start out cloudy, the skies should begin clearing around mid-morning, allowing temperatures to climb into the mid-70s throughout the inland areas and into the mid-60s at the beach.

The forecasters are calling for warmer temperatures on Saturday with the coastal areas going up to 75 degrees and the inland valleys as high as 84.

Sunday is expected to be pretty much the same as Saturday. At the beach, the water, with temperatures in the low 60s, is still a bit chilly for swimming and the surf won’t be much to speak of at two to three feet.

The county’s high temperature Thursday was 72 in San Juan Capistrano. It was 70 in both Santa Ana and El Toro, while Newport Beach was a cool 66.
