Bomb Placed Under INS Van
A small explosive device detonated in a parking lot behind the downtown Federal Building sometime before 6 a.m. today, and FBI agents are investigating. There was no damage and no one was injured.
Immigration and Naturalization Service spokesmen said the device, which was equipped with a timer, apparently had been placed under an INS van parked in the lot. The bomb exploded several minutes after the van was driven away.
