Reagan Intervenes in Rail Strike

The President’s action came as strikers from the Maine Central and two sister railroads also owned by Guilford Transportation Industries Inc. picketed Conrail freight facilities in six states and the District of Columbia, disrupting service as train crews refused to cross the lines.
