Stevens Rides Water Crystals to Hollypark Win

Water Crystals, ridden by Gary Stevens, swept past Cenyak’s Star in the stretch and scored a 1 1/2-length victory Friday in the $45,000 feature race for older fillies and mares at Hollywood Park.

Cenyak’s Star, ridden by Terry Lipham, held on to finish second, a length in front of favored Park Appeal, ridden by Fernando Toro.

Water Crystals was timed in 1:41 1/5 for 1 1/16 miles on the turf and paid $5.80, $3 and $2.20. Cenyak’s Star returned $3.40 and $2.40, and Park Appeal paid $2.20 to show.
