Directors of Louisville Papers Meet Privately

LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The directors of the Courier-Journal and Louisville Times Co. met privately Sunday, the day before they were expected to name the successful bidder for the company.
Allen H. Neuharth, chairman of Gannett Co. Inc., the nation’s largest newspaper group, checked into a Louisville hotel Sunday and reportedly met with Courier-Journal and Louisville Times President George Gill.
Barry Bingham Sr., chairman of the Louisville company, refused to comment after the board meeting.
