When One Set of Lenses Is Not Enough

Share

This summer, don’t settle for wearing only one pair of shades at a time.

While others are choosing between conservative Ray-Bans or flashy Porsche sunglasses--or maybe even super-sophisticated shades by Laura Biagotti--you can have the best of all worlds with a new breed of clip-ons.

At first glance, l.a. Eyeworks’ sunglasses look like mild-mannered, if not trendy, green-lensed specs--perfect for looking cool at a sidewalk cafe on Ventura Boulevard.

But snap a pair of blue-mirrored lenses over those, and you’re ready to cruise Pacific Coast Highway in a ’56 Corvette convertible. Cooler than cool.

“They have the look,” explains Heather Adams, manager at l.a. Eyeworks’ Los Angeles store. “And, besides the style being wonderful and new, they’re also practical.”

The clip-on sunglasses are available at eyeglass shops throughout the Valley and can be made to prescription. The pair pictured costs $110. Other styles and colors are available at higher prices.

Try to think of it as buying two pairs of sunglasses at a time.
