Flight operations stopped for an hour Friday at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport when a malfunction put air traffic controllers out of radio contact with all flights, airport officials said.

Norm Scroggins, manager of the airport’s tower approach control, said planes near the airport remained in contact with controllers at the Federal Aviation Administration’s Fort Worth center, which was not affected by the outage.
