Fullerton Wins, 3-0, on LeFebvre’s 1-Hitter
Susan LeFebvre pitched a one-hitter Friday as No.1-ranked Cal State Fullerton scored a 3-0 softball victory over California in the Women’s College World Series.
The Titans’ first run came in the third inning after Robin Goodin doubled and advanced to third on Michelle Gromacki’s bunt. Goodin then scored on a wild pitch by Cal’s Erin Cassidy. In the fourth, Terri Oberg singled and scored on Rina Foster’s triple. Foster then scored on a single by Goodin.
Cal State Fullerton’s record is 54-9-1. The win raised LeFebvre’s record to 36-1. Cassidy’s record dropped to 11-2.
Cal State Long Beach (37-19) also won, scoring in the bottom of the 10th inning to defeat Northwestern, 1-0.
