Texas Air Corp. President Gerald L. Gitner has resigned to pursue other business interests but will remain as a director and consultant to the firm, company officials said.
Gitner, whose resignation was effective immediately, joined Texas Air last December and will continue as a director of Texas Air and Continental Airlines as well as a consultant to Texas Air.
“As of the moment, I have no specific plan of action. However, consulting to Texas Air and potential investments will keep me occupied,” Gitner said.
Gitner, 40, previously was vice chairman of Pan Am, chairman of Pan Am World Services Corp. and president and a founder of People Express Airlines.
