A 2,000-page inventory of Empress Josephine’s possessions at the time of her death in 1814 sold for $13,200 at an auction Wednesday.

A Swiss art dealer bought the list at Sotheby’s auction house.

It took 10 months in 1814 and 1815 for French notary Maitre Noel to compile the three volumes listing the belongings of the wife of the Emperor Napoleon. The list included items ranging from white silk bed curtains and ermine-lined boots to Rembrandt paintings.
