Cranston Pension

Your news article (May 20), “Cranston Part of Millionaire Third of Senate,” leaves me numb and disheartened.

I just can’t imagine any justification for the level of government pension money afforded this guy.

The guy isn’t even retired. Yet, you report, he collected $55,238 in government pension money in 1985.

He doesn’t even need it. You also report that he earned $340,450 in 1985 from salaries and investments.

I can easily imagine better uses for that money in these “tight budget” times . . . like those little old ladies in the park foraging garbage cans for something to eat.

Who’s serving who here? Where, indeed, is the fat?
