South Korean Kim Ji-won survived a first-round knockdown and went on to stop challenger Rudy Casicas of the Philippines in the second round of their scheduled 15-round International Boxing Federation junior-featherweight title match in Seoul.
Casicas floored Kim with a combination of punches to the face, but failed to slow the champion, who sidestepped him with effective jabs and straight lefts and rights.
Kim knocked down the challenger with a left counter to the head. Casicas got up immediately, but collapsed again after the champion unleashed a barrage of hooks and strong punches, putting the defenseless challenger on the ropes.
