The first public questioning about the report of the presidential commission that investigated the space shuttle Challenger disaster will take place today at an 11 a.m. PDT press conference.

Commission Chairman William P. Rogers and other commission members will meet the press at a news conference in the Old Executive Office Building. Two hours later, James C. Fletcher, administrator of the space agency, will meet reporters at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration headquarters.

Earlier in the day, Rogers will discuss the report at separate briefings for members of the Senate and House committees concerned with the space program, then join other members of the group at a closed White House meeting with President Reagan, who received an advance copy of the report Friday. Reagan and Rogers will then speak at a brief ceremony in the White House Rose Garden.
