Toronto — A Canadian survey on attitudes toward sex in the media has found that two-thirds of those questioned would permit simulated sex on television.
A survey of 1,071 Canadians ---- carried out by Oleh Iwanyshyn of the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. and James Check of York University’s Psychology Department ---- found that nine of 10 people questioned did not want to see violent degrading scenes involving rape, torture or bondage on television.
But seven of 10 said they would watch scenes of simulated sex as long as genitals were not shown, and one in four said full frontal nudity was acceptable for television according to results of the survey.
