Murder charges have been filed against three teen-agers in the shooting death Sunday of a Santa Ana high school student near the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Carlos Chavez, 18, of Los Angeles and two juveniles--a 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy--were charged by the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office in the murder of Suzanne Mohr Coleman, 16, of Santa Ana.
Chavez, a reputed gang member who police believe fired the fatal shot from an apartment building roof with a sawed-off rifle, is scheduled to be arraigned today in Los Angeles Municipal Court.
The two juveniles, who are said to be associates of a gang, are expected to be arraigned in Compton Juvenile Court.
