President of Indiana U. to Quit, Give Time to Fund

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. —
Indiana University President John Ryan announced his resignation Friday, asking the school to replace him no later than September, 1987, officials said. Ryan, who has headed the university for more than 15 years, said he wants to devote more time to Campaign for Indiana, a statewide fund-raising effort to improve state institutions.
