Forever Fairy Tales: Brothers Grimm. VidAmerica. $39.95. Made in the Soviet Union during the ‘50s, these vivid, entertaining films (“The Fisherman and the Fish,” “The Frog Princess,” “The Ice Witch”) preserve the conflicts and magic of the Grimm originals. The designs draw heavily on Russian folk art, giving the familiar tales an exotic aura. Much of the animation was traced from live-action reference footage, so the movements often seem stiff.
