Tony Hope Put Home on Market--3 Days After Losing Election
The son of comedian Bob Hope, whose residency was challenged during his quest for a Republican nomination to Congress, put his Northridge home up for sale three days after losing the primary election.
“I’ve got a lot of debts to cover,” Tony Hope, who is a lawyer, said, citing $175,000 in campaign loans.
The three-bedroom house Hope bought March 14 for $225,500 was listed June 6 for $259,950, the Daily News said today.
The candidate lost to Simi Valley Mayor Elton Gallegly, who accused him during the campaign of carpetbagging. Hope, who was running for the seat being vacated by Rep. Bobbi Fiedler, has a home in Washington, D.C.
