Ezra Taft Benson in Hospital With ‘Flu’

SALT LAKE CITY —
Mormon Church President Ezra Taft Benson was in satisfactory condition today after suffering “flu-like distress,” a hospital spokeswoman said.
Benson, 86, was admitted to LDS Hospital on Tuesday afternoon and was expected to remain hospitalized for 48 hours. Benson, who assumed the church presidency last year, had been hospitalized Jan. 11-13 after a fainting spell.
