Ratkovich Forms New Firm for Urban Projects

Developer Wayne Ratkovich has formed a new firm, the Ratkovich Co., to work with institutional investors to acquire and develop major projects, primarily urban in character.

Ratkovich, whose urban restoration projects include the Oviatt Building, the Fine Arts Building and the Wiltern Theatre, will be president of the new firm, based in the Fine Arts Building, 811 West 7th St., and becomes chairman of Ratkovich, Bowers & Perez Inc.

Don E. Bowers, formerly executive vice president of the latter firm, assumes the post of president, while vice president Rodolfo Perez becomes executive vice president.

Bowers said that Ratkovich, Bowers & Perez will actively continue to acquire, develop and manage research and development, office and retail projects in Southern California, primarily in suburban locations.

Joining the new firm from Ratkovich, Bowers & Perez are Clifford Ratkovich, as executive vice president; Jack Germain, as vice president/manager of construction, and Charlotte Mitchell, chief financial officer.

“My personal interests have been in urban projects with relevancy to cities in which they are located,” Wayne Ratkovich said.
