Endorsements in France

Share

Having just returned from 12 days in France and utilizing the auberge suggestions of Jerry Hulse, we can unequivocally endorse the auberge/moulin concept as an absolutely delightful way to visit and see France.

We cannot say enough for the hospitality and warmth of the people of France. A warm smile and a helping hand, along with suggestions on how to enjoy our French vacation dispelled any rumors and myths we had heard about Parisians and their rudeness to foreigners. Throughout our 2,600-mile driving vacation we were treated with the utmost courtesy, warmth, and a sincere desire to help, whatever the request.

The moulins we visited were in Bannegon, Pontemporat near St. Etienne, and Chateauborg in Brittany. Hotels, large and small, and auberges rounded out the rest of our trip. We will always treasure the photos taken, the people met and sights seen. It was a memorable vacation for us. Do those people know how to prepare, present and eat good food!
