Pasadena : Budget Discussions Held

Share

Mayor John Crowley and City Director Rick Cole met this week with city staff members to discuss Pasadena’s 1986-87 operating budget, which must be approved by July 1. The Board of City Directors approved the special meeting on Monday after failing to agree on a time when all members could meet before the budget deadline.

Crowley and Cole will prepare recommendations for possible budget cuts that will be presented to the board at its regular meeting next week.

Earlier this month, city directors instructed City Manager Donald F. McIntyre to identify $1.5 million in trims in the proposed $76.4-million budget. City officials hope to use the $1.5 million for long-term financial needs such as the troubled police and fire pension fund and for repair work.
