MEXICO CITY — One of the things that might be troubling the French players is the fact that they missed out on a potentially huge bonus by failing to win the World Cup.
Had France done so, each player was to receive $110,000.
Players from the two countries that have reached Sunday’s final--Argentina and West Germany--will be getting considerably less if they win. The Germans have been promised $40,000 per player, and the Argentines, $50,000.
