Educators Vow to Cut School Dropout Rate

LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The National Education Assn., linking the national deficit to high school dropouts, announced plans Friday to cut America’s high school dropout rate in half by 1990.
The program calls for the support of local programs and the launching of an extensive media campaign.
