Officials at USX TeleCenters Corp., a 2-year-old telephone retail company, say they’re not happy about the steel company changing its name to USX Corp. Bill Kasler, a U.S. Steel spokesman, said: “Because there’s a difference in the name--USX Corp. versus USX TeleCenters--our counsel feels there’s no conflict there.” Both companies claim to have reserved the name with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The California secretary of state’s office said USX TeleCenters of Sunnyvale is the only California company using “USX” in its name.
