Alhambra : Free Lunches Until Sept. 5
Free lunches will be provided for youths 19 and younger until Sept. 5 as part of a city program funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Alhambra’s Summer Food and Service Program, now in its fifth year, will serve about 700 meals a day.
The city gets federal funds to pay for the food and administer the program because at least half of the children in the city are eligible to participate in the free lunch program for low-income students during the school year.
Lunches and afternoon snacks will be served Monday through Friday at Alhambra Park, 500 N. Palm Ave.; Almansor Park, 800 S. Almansor St.; Granada Park, 2000 W. Hellman Ave.; the YMCA, 10 N. Almansor St., and Montessori School, 150 N. Garfield Ave.
