Fullerton : Adopt-a-Park Program Offers Opportunities

Share

Community groups can make as much as $500 by keeping a city park clean for the last four months of 1986 in the city’s “Adopt-a-Park” program.

Nonprofit agencies based in Fullerton and serving primarily residents of that city are eligible to enter the program, which last year provided nearly $12,000 to 24 groups, said coordinator Joe Felz.

Groups will be required to keep a specific park clean from Aug. 8 through Dec. 21. The city will provide special equipment, but organizations must provide their own household equipment, such as trash bags, brooms and rakes, Felz said.

Groups will be expected to pick up only litter and must visit their assigned park at least once a week. In addition, they should report any dangerous objects, broken equipment or suspicious circumstances.

Applications are available at the Community Services Department, 303 W. Commonwealth Ave. Felz can be reached for more information at (714) 738-6589.
