Seattle Yacht Citius Is Nearing Lahaina

LAHAINA, Hawaii — The Seattle yacht Citius, after averaging 12 knots for a 284-mile, one-day run, was expected to be the first-to-finish in the 1986 Victoria-Maui International yacht race late Wednesday night.
At the daily noon radio report, the Santa Cruz 70 was 98 miles from the finish, trailed by the Lahaina Yacht Club entry Sorcery, 132 miles behind. Sorcery was expected to finish this morning.
The Division III yacht Madrugador from Seattle continued as the corrected time leader.
