“Steel” was dropped from another firm’s name.

Allegheny Ludlum Steel Co., a leading specialty steel producer, said it is in the process of renaming itself Allegheny Ludlum Corp. The change was being made to better reflect its broadened interests and its “willingness to consider investments outside steel,” the Pittsburgh firm said. No date was given for the change.
