Despite warnings several months ago that it was inappropriate and violated longstanding guidelines on nepotism, Assemblyman Nolan Frizzelle (R-Huntington Beach) said he sees nothing wrong with the fact that his stepdaughter works for an Assembly subcommittee of which Frizzelle was chairman until recently.

“She works for the subcommittee. She doesn’t work for me,” Frizzelle said of his wife’s daughter, 24-year-old Sabina Marie Evans, who earns $1,549 a month as a secretary for the subcommittee on health personnel.

Although he admits his connection with Evans was not volunteered when she was hired, Frizzelle insists it “was never any secret.”
