Diceon Electronics Posts Profit of $1.7 Million

Diceon Electronics Inc. said sales and earnings for the third quarter continued strong, despite the ongoing slump in the computer industry.

The Irvine circuit board maker posted earnings for the quarter ended June 28 of $1.7 million, compared with $2.2 million recorded for the same period last fiscal year. The company noted that year-ago profit included a net gain of $793,000 from settlement of an insurance claim.

Revenue for the third quarter was $16.3 million, 16% higher than the $14.1 million posted for the 1985 quarter.

Profit for the first nine months of the fiscal year was $4.9 million, compared with $5 million in 1985. Revenue for the first three quarters was $48.3 million, up 17.9% from $41 million.
