Sentencing of the former vice chairman of the U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors will be delayed two months so that he can supply additional details in a continuing criminal investigation of the postal service, the U.S. attorney’s office said Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge George H. Revercomb postponed the sentencing of Peter Voss from July 24 to Sept. 22 at the request of U.S. Atty. Joseph diGenova.

Voss pleaded guilty May 30 to expense account padding and accepting illegal payoffs. The payoffs were in connection with his efforts to steer a contract for mail-sorting equipment worth at least $250 million to a Texas company.
