Ex-Premier Going on Trial

ANKARA, Turkey —
Former Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit will go on trial today on charges of violating a law barring him from political activity until 1992, Turkish news agencies reported Wednesday. Ecevit was indicted last month after he addressed a convention of the Democratic Left Party on May 18.
