McMartin Defendant Sues Over Mishap at Hearing
Peggy McMartin Buckey, a defendant in the McMartin Pre-School molestation case, filed a negligence suit against Los Angeles County stemming from an April 15 accident during her preliminary hearing on charges of molesting students at the school.
Buckey, 50, who is to stand trial Aug. 22, claims that she tripped over a loose video cord while being led to a holding cell, sustaining “severe personal injuries.”
The Superior Court suit also names Court Vision, a Thousand Oaks company hired by the county to provide video equipment to aid media coverage.
