AND NOW HERE’S THE NEWS: The Nuns, San Francisco’s contribution to the ‘70s punk explosion, have re-formed and released a new album, “Rumania,” which is due out next month on PVC Records. The group, which features songstress Jennifer Miro, will head out on tour later this fall. . . . The members of the Jon Butcher Axis are suing their former manager, Noel Love, for $3 million in damages, claiming Love collected more than $800,000 in earnings the group received. The group’s complaint, filed in Superior Court of Massachusetts, also charges that the band was “menacingly confronted by hoodlums” who they say forced them to sign papers extending Love’s contract and increasing his commission rate. . . . And Archives Alive, the Michael Ochs-headed custom label that recently brought us a collection of unreleased Phil Ochs songs, has another new record in the stores. The Rhino Records-distributed company has just released “Get Right with the Swan Silvertones,” a collection of classic performances by the influential gospel group.
