As a subscriber to the Universal Amphitheatre ATOP concert series, I find it difficult to sympathize with statements made by Larry Vallon justifying the additional $1 facility fee tacked onto each ticket sold (Pop Eye, by Patrick Goldstein, July 13).

Vallon conveniently neglects to mention how parent company MCA benefits from additional parking revenues, overpriced concessions and restaurant traffic generated by amphitheatre patrons.

I purchased the minimum number of shows this season to maintain my ATOP membership but do not plan to purchase additional events as they become available, nor will I patronize food services on the grounds.

Vallon and MCA can take that to the bank.
