Rabbit Is Better

Robert Hofawger’s letter to the editor (“Can Do It Cheaper,” July 6) was misleading.

The VCR Rabbit provides two major benefits to the consumer: It enables the viewer to watch a single VCR on all the TVs in the house and to control all the functions of a wireless remote VCR from any viewing location.

Assuming that the consumer is highly knowledgeable, it is possible (as Hofawger suggested) to purchase equipment from Radio Shack to enable a viewer to watch a single VCR on more than one TV set.

However, this would involve laying coaxial cable throughout the house as opposed to running the Rabbit wire (which is as thin as the lead in a pencil) along the edge of carpets or baseboards.

And under no circumstances can the viewer enjoy the benefit of controlling his VCR remotely from the bedroom even when the VCR is in the living room, for example.
