Four international tenants, including a consulate, a major law firm and two banks have leased more than 100,000 square feet of space in One California Plaza, raising the total of space leased in the building at 300 S. Grand Ave. to nearly 60%.
The Canadian Consulate will occupy 23,000 square feet; the law firm of Sulmeyer, Kupetz, Baumann & Rothman will occupy more than 23,000 square feet; the Bank of Boston will occupy 17,000 square feet; the National Australia Bank will occupy 7,000 square feet and the National Assn. for Securities Dealers will occupy 12,000 square feet.
Other tenants, all planning to occupy space by this fall, include Kobe Steel American Inc., and the National Space Development Agency of Japan.
The aggregate value of the seven leases was $24 million. The $200-million building is part of the $1.2-billion California Plaza mixed-used development on Bunker Hill. Representing One California Plaza in all negotiations was Grubb & Ellis, according to a spokeswoman for Metropolitan Structures West, the managing partner of California Plaza.
