India withdrew from the Commonwealth Games Sunday in protest of Britain’s South Africa policy, dealing the biggest blow yet to the competition.

It is the 24th nation to boycott the games, almost half of the 49-nation commonwealth membership.

A 25th nation, the tiny kingdom of Lesotho which is entirely surrounded by South Africa, says it is not boycotting but won’t send a team to Edinburgh, Scotland, because its athletes aren’t fit for the competition.
