Leftist Guerrillas Blamed for Bombings in Lima
An Eastern Airlines office and a Mercedes-Benz dealership were slightly damaged in overnight bombings by leftist guerrillas, police said Wednesday.
The office of the Soviet airline, Aeroflot, escaped damage when police defused a time bomb placed outside its doors. A bomb thrown at the British-style Markham school wrecked windows of a nearby home but caused no damge to the school.
Police said Maoist Sendero Luminoso (Shining Path) guerrillas or leftist Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement rebels were responsible for the attacks.
