A celebration tonight featuring international food and entertainment will kick off “Memories,” a new exhibit at the Brea Civic Cultural Center gallery.
“An International Taste of Liberty” will offer foods from 15 Brea restaurants, along with music, dance and craft demonstrations. The event will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at the center, 1 Civic Center Circle.
“Memories,” which runs through Aug. 22, is a display of antique furniture, toys, glassware, needle crafts, cameras, telephones, bicycles and household items. Drawn from personal collections, many of the items are arranged in re-creations of Victorian-era settings, such as a parlor, a bathroom, bedrooms and a sewing room.
Admission to the “Taste of Liberty” is free, although there will be a charge for the food and for admission to flamenco dancing performances in the center theater. Regular gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m., and Thursday, noon to 8 p.m. Gallery admission is free.
