Take two brothers, one cool, clean-cut and ambitious, the other laid-back, quick-tempered and rough and tumble. Put them in the private investigating business and voila! You have the CBS series, “Simon & Simon.”

The stars of the show are Jameson Parker as A. J. Simon (the cool one) and Gerald McRaney as Rick Simon (the older brother). They’ve been on the air for five seasons, and will start a sixth year come fall in the 8 p.m. Thursday slot.

Meanwhile, they’re holding down the 8-9 p.m. Tuesday hour, where this week Rick finds himself falling for a client whose ex-boyfriend is missing.
