Archbishop Has Surgery

BOSTON —
Archbishop John F. Whealon, spiritual leader of 800,000 Roman Catholics in Connecticut, underwent successful surgery Wednesday related to his recent hip replacement, church officials said. Whealon is expected to be released from Massachusetts General Hospital in about a week.
