Rogerson Aircraft Corp. of Irvine has sued California Federal Savings & Loan, its principal lender, in an attempt to resolve a simmering dispute involving $6 million in loans to the aircraft parts maker.

According to President Michael Rogerson, the S&L; is demanding a $560,000 penalty because his company is attempting to pay off its loan balance at California Federal and seek new financing from another association.

Rogerson said California Federal has refused to accept payment of the remaining $4.5-million balance on the two loans until the penalty is paid and has filed a $9-million lien on Rogerson Aircraft’s assets.

California Federal officials would not comment.

Although Rogerson said in court papers that the lien threatens the solvency of the company, he said in an interview that he expects the dispute to be resolved quickly and without adverse effects on the company. “I don’t think it’s a big matter,” Rogerson said.
